India will also have $20 mobile phone in the first half of 2007. Infineon Technologies AG is coming with new generation ultra low cost single chip mobile phone for $16.
Infineon is not only offering semiconductor and system solutions to automotive and industrial sectors but also applications in communication and memory products.
The phone will build on single chip, which will have voice and message alongwith polyphonic ring tones facility. It has other features also for which they will add chip for each application, which are following:
• Camera
• Radio
• MP3
• Loudspeaker facility
According to the vice president and general manager of Infineon, Tan Weng Kuan, the second-generation mobile phone would be highly lucrative mobile phone in India.
