It seems this is the season of some fabulous wireless deals. Three major telecoms leaders, T-Mobile, Orange and O2 are partnering with Apple to bring exclusive iPhone carriers in France, Germany and the UK.
Financial Times reported that the operators have agreed to give Apple 10 per cent of all revenue generated from iPhone users. Apple has signed deal with T-Mobile to popularize its iPhone in Germany, Orange in France and O2 in the UK. Apple ensured that the company will start shipping the iPhone in Europe by the end of this year.
Apparently, Apple and the mobile operators are keeping the deal under wraps until they can officially announce it at the IFA trade fair in Berlin at the end of this month. Part of the attraction of the iPhone to operators is that Appleis not subsidizing the device. The FT is predicting that Apple will launch the iPhone in UK by the end of this autumn. While Apple will launch iPhone in Germany and France by the end next spring.
