AT&T is planning to launch software products for the visually impaired. The company has partnered with Code Factory to launch two new wireless software products - Mobile Speak and Mobile Magnifier - which will work on Windows Mobile as well as Symbian Series 60 operating system devices.
AT&T’s Mobile Speak supports Braille language, which allows users to use it with or without speech. The Mobile Speak speech feedback in several languages. The device is a powerful and full fledged screen reader with an easy-to-learn command structure. The Mobile Speak automatically detects the important information, which the blind user must know. The Mobile Speak has following features:
1) Speed dial, call lists and contacts lists
2) It allows users for text messaging
3) Calendar, tasks, notes and calculator
4) Internet browsing
5) It allows users to access Word, Excel and PowerPoint
6) Voice recorder, media player, voice speed dial and voice command
7)Phone/device settings, profiles, alarms and ringtones
While the Mobile Magnifier is a flexible, full-screen magnification application, which supports low- and high-resolution screens. Users can use the device with or without speech feedback. Magnification software is compatible with a wide range of mobile devices. It has magnification levels from 1.25x to 16x with font flexibility. It has three different layouts, a full-screen, split and distributed view with different color schemes, including inverted color. It has automatic zoom function, which detects areas of interest on the screen.
