In order to help international students cope up with university life in Britain and get used to the cultural shock University of Portsmouth has developed a novel mobile game to help them deal with all the sudden changes that they come face to face out there. The game is called C-Shock and it educates the students about the pub culture and presence of public affection in Britain and this game has been created by Nipan Maniar who is a games technology expert and himself had landed in UK just five years back. He feels that the game would be acting as a mobile mummy or e-mother for international students.
This game is being sued as a means for bringing down the incidences of culture shock among students to almost nil by undertaking certain tasks which highlights culture shocking incidents and images. This game can also help in guiding students in offering basic information regarding banks and ATMs. This game is expected to help students settle quickly in the unknown country. The game which is still in the final stages of development would be released within this year on the website of the university.
