Acting on the request from the women community, the Cambodian Prime Minister Hue Sen banned the use of third-generation mobile phone services in the country to check dissemination of pornography.



A group of women complained that the 3G mobile phones display obscene pictures, which tarnish the image of the country. It degrades the social values and gives scope for sexual exploitation of women and children, they added. Prime Minister’s wife was one among the agitated opposer of 3G mobile phone services.



Although the third generation mobile phones carry entertaining features for the customers, these phones portrait negative images of the woman which is very harmful for a civilized nation.

Convinced by the women, Prime Minister restricted the use of 3G mobile phones in the country.
