CAT Telecom is likely to delay the launch of its mobile services in 51 provinces till next year due to non-preparation of market plan and billing system. Availability of handsets for the expanded service is another factor for the delay.



Now the state agency is depending on China’s Huawei Technologies, which has to complete installation of an additional 800 base stations for the cdma2000 1x network in the marked provinces before it takes a move. The Chinese company has completed installation of the first 800 base stations in January and is likely to finish the remaining 800 in January next year. Earlier it was reported that CAT had started inviting foreign firms to market the service in 51 provinces. For which a committee was inducted. The committee will take necessary steps to attract steps to attract the foreign firms to market its services.
