
Amp’d Mobile Inc. announced that Circuit City Stores Inc, the consumer electronics retailer will sell its mobile phones to expand the company distribution services.
The company will offer the service on rent basis to young customers, who pay in advance for mobile phone calls and downloads of music and video. Amp’d will offer the network space from Verizon Wireless to young mobile customers.
The company has approximately 50,000 customers. Other companies are also using same business model like Virgin Mobile USA, a joint venture of Virgin and Sprint Nextel Corp.
