According to Rajputro (meaning prince in Bangla), a blogger from Bangladesh, sales of a pair of ‘ultra-low’ cost mobile phones aimed at poor nations have exceeded expectations since their launch at the beginning of the year. This has apparently prompted the GSM Association (GSMA) to extend the program that made them develop these phones in the first place.



According to him the GSMA said in a statement that Countries like China, India, Russia and Bangladesh have already bought or ordered more than 12 million mobile phones under the Emerging Market Handset program.
