Now, you don’t have to use your computer or Internet connection to access local information. Just click on your keypad of mobile phone and access it. Search Engine giant, Google has launched - Google Voice Local Search service - an experimental phone directory assistance service for mobile phones to recognize speech on telephones.
The company is inviting US callers to dial 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) from any phone and access information about local business. The company has already launched Google Maps on mobile phones. Most of Internet players including Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft are expanding their services by offering web search advertising business into pay-per call marketing.
Users can use the Google Voice Local Search from their mobile phones as well as from landlines. Even mobile phone users can request listing details to be sent as a text message to their mobile phones. Users can ask for pizza parlor or dry cleaner or any other business by name. The service will run by computers. Currently, tge service is only available for US users. The computerised service is an automated service, which supports local business information.
