Ron Herman, an engineer and computer scientist, claiming that its IntelliOne system is able to use mobile phone data to give real time notifications for controlling traffic on roads. The system will work within the range of mobile phone.
The concept behind this system is every simple, every mobile phone is tuned into multiple relay towers. The towers will determine the position of phone twice, when someone is talking and once every 30 seconds, if the phone is idle.
The tower will completely phone position information to the carrier’s local computer. The Atlanta-based IntelliOne probes that data stream and converts it into real time traffic jamming report.
There are no privacy issues for tracking the traffic. There are several ways to get the information.
