Soon, Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc., is launching its 14 new models of mobile phones. The country’s No.1 mobile operator is facing a tough competition with its rival companies KDDI Corp. and Softbank Corp.

NEC Corp., Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., and Sharp Corp., are manufacturing the DoCoMo’s new mobile phones. These mobile phones are equipped with arrange of functions like GPS and high speed connectivity. Three models are offering digital TV services, while two models are compatible with HSDPA high-speed network. Five of the models can play and download music from Napster Japan’s music service. Eleven mobile handsets would be sold as part of DoCoMo’s high-end “903i” series.

DoCoMo has 56 percent market share in mobile market, while its rival companies are holding 28 market shares.
