Junxion Inc has partnered with Novatel Wireless to introduce its latest version of Junxion firmware version 1.6 with GPS enabled remote management tool created for IT administrators to manage Junxion Box cellular router deployments.

The first remote management tool, Field Commander GPS application allows administrators to map the location and location of deployed cellular routers. Network administrators are using the remote management tool to manage and track Junxion Box routers from a single web browser. The company has added GPS mapping system to its hosted management tool. IT managers are using Google Maps interface to track network assets and map the physical location of any Junxion Box router, which is equipped with GPS. The solution utilizes GPS enabled modems like the Novatel S720, Nextel’s first EV-DO Rev. The features of the Junxion firmware version 1.6 are given below:

1) The Junxion firmware version 1.6 supports upgraded EV-DO Rev
2) A networks with fast uplink and downlink connections
3) The Junxion firmware version 1.6 enables enterprise applications, which requires duplex broadband throughout
4) It supports custom DNS configurations
5) The solution has dynamic signal strength and data card diagnostics for Novatel Wireless modems.

According to Junxion President, Peter Polson, the company is integrating the modem’s functionality into Junxion’s remote management tool. Novatel offers a software development kit, which allows company to build the advance drivers to enhance GPS functionality.
