LG Philips announced that the company has developed the world’s slimmest TFT-LCD panel for slimmest mobile phones. The TFT-LCDis just 1.3 mm in thickness and this 32% slimmer than current TFT-LCD used in mobile phones.
This LCD panel is slimmer than OLED, which are 1.5 and 1.8mm thick and it allows to manufacture mobile phones, which are slimmer than 6.9mm thick.
According to LG Philips, the super-slim LCD panel uses the company patent structural modification technology to protect the LCD’s components.
