In Telematics Detroit 2006 conference and exhibition held at Detroit, the Microsoft Corp confirmed that Microsoft Windows Mobile for Automotive platform was named as Best Telematics Solution.



Windows Mobile for Automotive defines the automotive-grade operating system software for communication in cars.



Automakers acclaim that Windows mobile is in market due to its reliability and flexibility.



Fiat Auto SpA, was the first automaker who commercially launched the system based on Windows Mobile for automotive platform at the Geneva Auto Show. The Fiat solution, named Blue&Me provides hands-free mobile phone, which supports about 400 models of mobile phone and portable media player through Universal Serial Bus and voice-guided navigation.



Drivers and passengers can use their voice to receive calls browse their phone book, or search and play music from their portable music player. The software shows the next generation of mobile phones designed to allow users to enjoy their devices in car also.
