According to a study by Radicati Group, worldwide there are 668 million email users with over 1.2 billion active email accounts. The per day mail traffic is about 135 billion messages of which 67% is spam.



But the real revelation is that Mobile phone mailboxes currently account for only 2 percent of worldwide active mailboxes.



The study expects the market to show a strong growth in email archiving and wireless email markets. As the email archiving market is expected to double in size annually over the next four years, revenues in the mobile email market is forecasted to increase 3-fold by 2009.
