Motorola: Motofone



Motorola, the world’s second largest mobile phone maker company is going to start its thinnest phone 1/3-inch-thick Motofone, after the success of its Razr handset. The first of the Scpl, Motophone uses fewer parts, multiple function chips and efficient software to cut manufacturing cost.



The chief executive officer of Motorola, Ed Zander is betting that new generation and super thin mobile phone, Motofone will break the records of Nokia in India and China.



Motorola has sold approximately 50 million Razr phone to their mobile phone users. Still Motorola is 16.7 per cent behind Nokia.



The shares of Motorola have risen up to 4.6 percent this year, while shares of Nokia have risen up to 7 per cent. The total share of Motorola is 16 per cent in Asia Pacific, while Nokia has 35 percent. Motorola has 22 per cent share in global market, while Nokia has 33 percent share.



Motorola’s net income is increased from 47 per cent to $1.35 billion, while Nokia has jumped from 43 percent to 1.14 billion euros. Both companies are in demand in India and China.
