The joint venture of Japan FM Network and Mitsui & Co. Ltd has launched two services for mobile phones as well as car navigation systems.
The first service is multimedia broadcast service for mobile phones. While the other service is car navigation system, which helps drivers to navigate the way while driving. 
The car navigation uses terrestrial digital audio broadcasts (digital radio) called 3seg services.
The new joint venture will combine JFNC’s expertise in program and Internet content projects to target FM broadcasts and Mitsui’s management resources concerning data broadcasts and Internet businesses targeting mobile devices to develop its business. The new company will be involved in more business by including following provisions:
1) The provision of program content and data broadcast services
2) Interactive data broadcasts-based marketing
3) e-commerce
The new service includes VHF and UHF bands under which the VHF band will be allotted to multimedia mobile broadcasts. The other groups promote ISDB-Tmm and “MediaFLO” services to enter into the market.
