Nokia 6136: UMA mobile phone

Now it is a turn of Nokia to popularize its first Unlicensed Mobile Access in wireless market. Nokia is putting all of its resouces to test its wireless LAN connection in Finland. Approximately 50 families of Oulu city are testing the new functionality of Nokia 6136 mobile device.



Nokia is providing its first UMA phone Nokia 6136, which allows all benefits of mobile and fixed landline through voice over WLAN. User can roam between local area networks and wide area network through UMA technology. This mobile phone allows you to make calls through WLAN networks.



This project is a joint venture of Nokia and DNA/Finnet group. The group will allow citizens of Oulu to receive free WLAN internet in the city. It will enable users to make calls through internet in low cost.
