A leading provider of NXP Semiconductors (NXP) has introduced the world’s first USB digital audio headset solution, Nexperia PNX0161 to drive the standardization of USB 2.0 for portable customer devices.

Nexperia PNX0161 has in-built DSP software, which enables OEMs to pre-set equalizers and maximizes echo cancellation for improved sound quality. The USB digital audio headset solution has programmable ARM7TDMI core, which is embedded with a DC/AC converter to power via the USB bus. The solution is fully compatible with USB specifications to offer plug-and-play operation with any USB host or On-The-Go (OTG). The solution also supports USB Audio and Human Interface Device (HID) classes.

The single chip Nexperia PNX0161 is featured with ultra-low power USB 2.0 compliant solution, which provides stereo playback, recording and FM radio. The other features of NXP’s Nexperia PNX0161 are given below:
1) The solution is available in TFBGA88 package

2) The USB digital headset requires low power for playback mode
3) The Nexperia is embedded with power management functionality and power control functionality.
4) The new solution enhances the USB 2.0 standard to shift the core audio streaming functions to the USB connector on the host device.
