According to local paper Gestion of Peru, the sales of new handsets are only 15 % in Peruvian market.

According to regulator Osiptel, the country will hit the market by 6.76 million users in the end of 2006.

Users are spending 70 minutes on the phone per month. The use of mobile phone is less due to charging interconnection rates for calling users to another mobile operator. Currently operators are charging US$0.18 per minute.
