Pakistan Government is awarding licenses to four mobile companies for setting up network in the Pakistan-administered part of Kashmir looking for improving telecommunications damaged by an earthquake last year.



The four companies which are getting the license are following:



a) Pakistan Mobile or MobiLink, Islamabad-based company which the unit of Egypt’s Orascom Telecom.

b) Al-Warid Telecom of the UAE

c) Telenor Pakistan

d) Ufone Pvt Ltd



The cost of license is $10 million. Cellular operators provided temporary services to help facilitate relief efforts in the earthquake-hit zone. The four companies licensed to establish networks license have already deposited half the $10 million fees.
