Pantech Face Sensing Engine phone



Now, the mobile phone is going to do face detection also.



According to Oki Electric Industry Co. Ltd., the company is going to provide Face Sensing Engine to Pantech Co. Ltd. to use in their mobile phones. Oki’s face image is embedded into the Pantech’s SKY brand mobile phone, SKY IM-R100. The SKY IM-R100 is the first mobile phone which is equipped with Oki’s FSE. The Face Sensing Engine will automatically control the camera and adjusts the facial tracking function. It has following features:



1) The Oki’s FSE can be embedded into a phone with limited CPU and memory, but still it provides high speed image processing.



2) It has the fastest speed in tracking facial feature detection. It detects facial features in 115msec and tracks it in 35msec. It extracts the personal characteristics of the face image and provides facial image.



3) Pantech is providing good solution for mobile phone market as well as for entertainment industry.
