Mobile users in Russia are breathing a sigh of relief now, as they would not have to pay for incoming calls after President Vladimir Putin signed a change in Russian telecom law.

The weird practice that has been abolished from many countries were still in place in Russia where many Russian subscribers pay for the calls they receive under the terms of the contract with their operator. This means that many subscribers refuse to answer their calls. In addition, calls remain unanswered when a subscriber’s credit has run out.

According to a presidential press service statement, this is no longer going to be as the change will come in effect from July 1, except in specified circumstances, including when a call comes from one region to another or from abroad like normal roaming charges.

Russia has a very large number of mobile subscribers with around 126 million subscribers. This news is most certainly be overwhelmingly welcomed by the users.
