A lot of parents are dismayed by what they think is overuse of moile phones by their teenage children. AT&T Inc., America’s largest wireless carrier comes to the rescue by launching a service giving parents a wide-ranging control on almost all of its 63.7 million subscriber lines.ph
It is called as the Smart Limits service and will be providing a wide range of features to put a tab on inflated bills and time spent on mobile phones.

The service will provide functions ranging from call blocking and hour limits to text message and download allowances. Calls to or from a parent’s number can be made to override the restrictions, and calls to 911 can be made anytime. For the sake of convenience, parents can make settings on the internet. Further, the service will enable parents put a limit on their kids’ Internet usage. They can put a restriction on certain Web sites that they do not wish for their kids to access from their mobile phones.

This is not the first instance of limiting kids’ mobile usage. In 2006 Disney Mobile was launched by the Walt Disney Co. and it offered many of the same functions as AT&T’s phone. At the core of the product are features which allow parents to set spending allowances and track usage for voice minutes, text messaging, picture messaging and downloadable content .The mobile can be used to determine the hours of the day and days of the week when kids can use their phones and also helps locate kids’ phones with GPS capabilities.

The phone might be popular with parents but teenagers for sure are not going to be very pleased with it!
