
Rediff. India has opened its short messaging service to send and receive e-mails through mobile phones.
Mobile phone users would be able to send and receive e-mails over the mobile phones by messaging to 7333. All telecom service providers are ready to help Rediff effort. This initiative step with increase the market growth in small and medium business (SMBs) sector. User has to SMS ‘mail’ to 7333 and registers its rediffmail e-mail id. Each time users would be able to receive an alert about their e-mail. The telecom service providers will send SMS with the subject profile. If user wants to access their e-mail, then user can reply back to SMS.
According to Manish Agarwal, Vice President, marketing, Rediff India, user doest not require a GPRS connect to avail the service.
