Reliance, India’s telecommunication service provider has partnered with Yahoo! India, the leading Internet communications and media company to offer Yahoo! Instant Messenger for Reliance mobile users across India. This joint venture will offer the rich, live Instant Messenger service on Reliance Mobile phones. Reliance communications is the first telecom service provider in the world to offer Mobile IM across Java, BREW and WAP phones on a mobile operator network.
Mobile Instant Messenger will allow Reliance customers not only to chat live with other Reliance customers but also they can chat with Yahoo! Instant Messenger user across the world. User would be able to send instant messages and chat online with their family and family by using Yahoo! Messenger. Reliance user would be able to use all features of Yahoo! IM like multi-chat windows, presence status icon, emoticons, Yahoo! personal contact list and profile, multiple chat windows and viewing off-line messages etc.
ACL Wireless has developed the Yahoo! Instant Messenger service client interface for Reliance. Reliance has offered this service for all BREW, WAP and Nokia color handsets by using Java technology.
This unique service will offer Reliance customer to stay connected with their friends and family. Customer can avail this service by paying INR 5 for each session and can send and receive unlimited instant messages.
