It is not Google Talk. I am talking about the Rok Talk, a new mobile conferencing-calling application launched by Rok Entertainment. It is a unique application in the sense that it blends GSM, VoIP and Text features.
Rok Talk enables users to make instant conference calls upto 30 people from their mobile contact lists. It is based on Symbian application that ensures users to select participants from their address book. They can also simply enter any phone number for conferring calls. The data is transmitted to Rok server via data link.
The unique feature of Rok Talk is that it does not require any registration from the participants. There are also no hard and fast rules that participants should have Symbian handsets.
The service is now available in beta. The company is planning for a public launch in the next five weeks. However, we can register at Rok Talk for trial. It is free.
As of now, Rok Talk supports Symbian applications. The company will soon introduce Java/J2ME version and Windows Mobile for the service.
