SanDisk Corporation introduces the 4GB 1miniSD High Capacity flash card at the CTIA Wireless Show.
The 4GB SanDisk miniSDHC card will provide the fast speed and large capacity to support storage intensive applications like digital imaging, music and video record/playback functions as well as videogames and mobile television. It will store more than 2000 high resolution pictures, 1000 digital songs and 8 hours of video.
SanDisk is now sampling the new 4GB mini SD card to OEMs like mobile manufacturing companies and mobile network operators. Since the card is based on SD Association 2.0 specification, the new card is also member of SDHC family. Actually SDHC is the new name of SD or SD-based card, which is larger than 2 GB and holds the SD 2.00 specification.
It is completely new designed card which supports 4GB to 32GB storage capacity. SD Association developed the specification and also defines the three classes of specification. These cards are holding the SD Speed Class 2 Rating specification that defines a minimum sustained transfer speed for SDHC cards3.
