Japan’s Softbank Corp is offering an Apple Computer Inc. iPod nano packaged with its mobile phones. Softbank is offering Sharp Corp. modeled cell phones with new 2 gigabyte iPod nano. Apple is selling its new iPod model for 17,800 yen.

The company is providing this new package to hold their customers for next two years. If customers will cancel their subscription within the period then Softbank would refund their money.

Softbank has borrowed about 1.3 trillion yen to buy wireless unit from Vodafone Group. The cost of Softbank’s popular digital TV phone is 70,000 yen but it is currently priced as low as 24,000 yen to retailers.

This promotion with Apple will help the company to retain its 16 percent share in Japan’s mobile market. Softbank is competing with its biggest rivals NTT DoCoMo Inc. and KDDI Corp.
