TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) has partnered with Nuance Communications, speech software vendor to create a speech-enabled mobile navigation system for mobile phones. TCS’s “Navigator” is the first mobile phone navigation system, which will enable users to enter destinations by voice.

Nuance’s Mobile Navigation Service Package will offer TCS navigator speaker-independent voice destination entry application. Navigator automatically generates an optimal route based on real traffic conditions and suggests alternative routes. It will automatically update the travel time and time of arrival based on current conditions. It will run on Windows Mobile, J2ME, BREW, and Symbian platforms.
