Teddyfone, a British company has launched a teddy shaped mobile phone for the four-year-olds. Teddyfone uses the basic mobile phone technology and is exclusively designed child safety phone.
The phone just has four buttons on the four paws - to speed-dial four numbers and has two panic buttons that a child can press in any kind of emergency. The speaker is masked in the nose of the teddy and there is no keypad and no screen.
There is also a child-tracking service to find out where their child is. There is also a child monitoring option which can be activated by parents which will enable them to listen to what is happening around their child.
The main features of the Teddyfone can be summarized as below:
1. The phone emits 10 times less emissions than a normal mobile phone.
2. It does not look like a mobile phone, which would not attract unwanted attention.
3. It has limited functionality - no texting or downloading.
4. Calls are allowed to only four pre-programmed numbers.
5. It has an automated SOS alert feature.
6. It also has a child tracking facility.
