These days Microsoft is putting its hand in many things now there are reports that suggest that Microsoft will now crash in to telephony circuit also.
The Office Communication Server 2007 will now also carry voice functionality. This server is being tested by 2500 IT professionals who were supplied with the beta version.
The new voice server will allow the workers to make a instant phone call to a colleague and it can be a one-to-one call or multiparty call. What one gets from the Microsoft’s description of server is this it is almost like a IP PBX and some of the features that are available in beta version are making and receiving a call; advanced call routing and forwarding and transferring a call.
The server works in compliance to the exiting telecom infrastructure. The server will be a death nail for the regular phone as nobody will have to get out of PC to make a call.
