I am surprised after hearing the news that text messages are helping police in criminal investigations.
According to the University of Leicester team, this tool allows the identification of text author. Researchers will study volunteer’s SMS messages and find out the patterns of language and style of texts.
The aim of new study is to develop a forensic toolkit for criminal investigations involving texts. This technique is known as Forensic authorship analysis. They will study the writing style of text message and e-mail through this technique.
Now the team is looking for those approximately 100 volunteers to analyse at least 10 messages. I hope this technology will help police to solve criminal cases.
