Now, wireless technology is helping to reduce child violence. The United Way California Capital Region program is reducing the child abuse using Bluetooth technology. The program allows California agencies to deliver Parent Child Interaction Therapy not only in home but also in clinic. GN 6210 headset has Bluetooth technology, which allows UWCCR to increase the therapy session and provide treatment for needy people.
The program is conducted in specialized room of a clinic. During this therapy, parent and child take toys while counselor observes them from other place. The Counselor watches patient through video camera and communicate though Bluetooth enabled cell phone. If patient is conducting therapy in home, the PCIT sessions will become double.
The aim of UWCCR is to reduce child abuse in its five county-regions. The cost of specialized room is $20,000. GN Netcom is providing the GN 6210 Bluetooth headsets to UWCCR. They are also planning to use landline and cell phones for this therapy.
