
Soon Verizon wireless customers will have another option to pay their bills through their mobile phones. Verizon, is the first US carrier to offer the mobile payment service for its customers.
Users can access their mobile money with an Obopay prepaid MasterCard, which can be used at any ATM or retail outlet that accepts credit cards. Users also can check their account balances and collect money owed from other mobile users and view transaction histories.
Users can also invite friends to use the service through Obopay’s user-friendly features.

Initially, Obopay will run on Verizon Wireless mobile phones as a BREW application, which can be downloaded from the Verizon Wireless Get It Now online catalog. Users would be able to sign up for the service directly from their Verizon Wireless mobile devices after downloading the application. Users can also download this service from Obopay . T
he service will also be available as part of Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Web 2.0SM service. Customers only need a Get It Now-enabled handset and Verizon Wireless digital service to access the Get It Now virtual store.

Recently, Obopay announced another new tool for payments by using AIM, the popular instant messaging program from America Online. The AIM plug-in allows AIM users to launch Obopay and use it to make payments directly from AIM buddy list feature.
