This time Vodafone plans to give one of the most surprising gifts to its customers in this Christmas. Vodafone plans to take on the Apple’s iPhone by launching its own high-end touch-screen phone before the Christmas shopping season. The firm is also planning to launch 25 new mobile handsets in this Christmas.
Vodafone will exclusively bring the Samsung F700V smartphone, which features a touch screen and plays audio and video files, just like the Apple iPhone. But Samsung’s F700 is slightly different from Apple’s iPhone. The Samsung’s F700 has HSDPA 3G connectivity, capable of downloading data at 7.2Mbps and a less elegant pull-down QWERTY keyboard.

Vodafone has plan to customize the ‘Apple iPhone Killer’ mobile handset with Vodafone services and branding. Using the Windows Mobile operating system, Vodafone plans to introduce two more handsets in the market; the Vodafone-branded 920, which would be manufactured by Taiwans’ High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC); and the co-branded i620v from Samsung.
Vodafone has not declared any pricing information. It is expected that phones would be available by the end of this month. Additionally, Vodafone has another plans to offer MusicStation, the music download service provided by Omnifone Ltd. With MusicStation, customers can download unlimited music titles directly to the internal memory or storage cards of their mobile handsets.
