Vodafone is likely to cut thousands of jobs as it has incurred heavy annual loss to tune of 15 billion founds. The detail of cost cutting program will be disclosed this week. The Vodafone’s chief executive Arun Sarin will give a detailed account of the loss on Tuesday. Perhaps for the first time, Vodafone has incurred heavy loss. Previously it recorded loss of pounds 16.1bn in 2002.
To manage the loss, the Vodafone group has decided to follow an aggressive policy. It will reduce around 500 jobs at the Group’s Newbury headquarters and also plans to outsource large number of posts to IT and network partners.
It seems that Vodafone will come up with strategies to move the customers. It will take a series of measures to make handful profit in the coming days. It is very likely that the UK based Vodafone will directly target the fixed-line operators with new services.
