WebTech Wireless recently said that an (ASIC) Application Specific Integrated Circuit developed for deployment on large volume assembly lines of automotive makers is going to be obtainable in production and deployment form. The ASIC provides Telematics and Location-Based Services (LBS) to traveler and commercial vehicles.

ASIC, the GSM-enabled wireless gateway, has specifically been developed for making possible Telematics and LBS utilizing GPS and a central Telematics and LBS Manage-ment System (TLMS) founded on WebTech Wireless’s Quadrant(TM) technology. The GSM-enabled wireless device is included with a vigorously configurable Virtual SIM Card, a Telematics and LBS virtual client, and event profiles which enable the wireless unit to be vigorously configured and reconfigured.

The wireless gateway device is said to be a Telematics and LBS ASIC, which will make available simple and fully incorporated deployment on the assembly lines of vehicle makers. In conjunction with a major cutback in dimension and expenses, the ASIC has been developed to be completely consistent with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) traveler and commercial vehicle interface standards like CANBUS and J1939.

Anwar Sukkarie, co-founder, President and CEO of WebTech Wireless, was quoted as saying,

The Telematics and LBS ASIC is based on a WebTech Wireless patent-pending technology and is being developed by our engineering teams. This advanced wireless gateway will be available to every vehicle being assembled by an automotive manufacturer. The ASIC is a cornerstone of our OEM strategy, which has been formulated and is currently being implemented.

Anwar Sukkarie further added,

Combined with a GSM service provider solution such as the recently announced agreement with Rogers Wireless, a well-developed ROI model, and our proven ability to execute efficiently on our plans, the fully integrated ASIC formulates a powerful strategy aimed at standardizing our industry worldwide. We remain true to our vision that one day every vehicle will have a wireless gateway. Our mission is for WebTech Wireless to be the supplier of the products and services made possible through that wireless gateway.

The technology supporting the ASIC concentrates on facilitating a whole host of services obtainable to end-users in four service types: Safety and Security, Entertainment,Telematics and Location-Based Services and Remote Diagnostics.
