
It is quite surprising that always US market is totally different from rest of the market. When smartphone is becoming popular all over the world, then US people are not adopting smartphone so easily.
According to report of the NPD Group, the sales of smartphone are only around 2 percent in the US.
America has three different types of wireless networks, which are following:
• GSM —- T-Mobile and Cingular
• CDMA —- Verizon and Sprint
• IDEM —- Nextel
According to Avi Greengart, principal analyst, the problem is due to vendor lock-in and lack of probability between phones. Carriers in the US easily lock the SIM card of the phone, while in Europe and Asia market there is a trend of replacing and upgrading the cell phones.
There is significant difference between in the US market and rest of the world is the choice of platform.
