
Smartphones and PDAs will help you to save your information, but consumers cannot clean the data of their mobile phones before selling to eBay.
According to security software company, Trust Digital, personal and corporate data are being sold on the open market of eBay, and anyone can find out the data from smartphones or PDAs.
Trust Digital has retrieved approximately 27000 pages of sensitive data from sampling of 10 mobile devices purchased from eBay. Users of these devices will include the corporate counsel of multibillion-dollar technology company, which will serves the legal market and an employee of a Web service company.
The company is advising users to use password function on their smartphones or PDAs and make an enquiry about data security from their mobile phones.
Motorola’s BlackBerry, RIM and Palm Treao 650 handset have in-built wipe function. Commercial hard-wipe products are also available for other mobile phones users.
