SiGe’s RF front-end technology enables wireless VoIP

SiGe Semiconductor Inc. announced that its Wi-Fi RF front-end technology will enable Samsung Wi-Fi phones to increase their wireless voice capability. Now Samsung Wi-Fi phone users are able to do high quality multimedia messaging service. Samsung’s Wi-Fi phones will support wireless voice and multimedia messaging services with high quality, optimal range and long battery life. SiGe’s SE2521A60 RF front-end technology is integrated with the Samsung SMT-W5100 and the SMT-W6100. Samsung SMT-W5100, theis basically intended for small businesses, while the Samsung SMT-W6100, an IP phone is intended for consumers. Both phones are integrated with SiGe Semiconductor’s SE2521A60 RF front-end module, which will includes all the required circuits between the transceiver and the antenna. SiGe Semiconductor’s SE2521A60 RF front-end module boosts signal strength, which will ensure that wireless signal can transmit by using high data rates over further distances. The RF front-end module adds Wi-Fi capability to its consumer electronics without making any effect on size, battery life or performance of battery by using the efficiency of integration and power. According to Andrew Parolin, Director, SiGe Semiconductor, Wireless VoIP service and multimedia messaging is value added services for customers.

Japan is making its presence in next generation mobile phones market. The next generation mobile phones are given below: Fujitsu F703i: Sony’s Bravia TV technology allows user to use your mobile phone in water also. It can be impressively submerged in 1 m of water for 30 minutes. The phone comes with relax mode, which enables the handset to play sounds and glow with color chosen by a color therapy expert. Mitsubishi D800iDS clamshell phone: The phone is featured with touchscreen instead of using keypad. Mobile phone to monitor the health data of Indian patients

Now mobile phones are not only source of communication but it can also be used as telemedicine system. UK scientists have developed the mobile phone monitoring system and now they are bringing the system in India. Loughborough University engineers of UK have partnership with experts of India to develop unique mobile phone health monitoring system in India. The University has tied up with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Aligarh Muslim University to develop the system. Professor Bryan Woodward and Dr Fadlee Rasid from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the Loughborough University have developed the mobile phone monitoring system. The UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) has awarded Professor Woodward to develop the mobile phone monitoring system. The device has small sensors and mini-processors, which would be able to acquire bio-medical data from patients. The network of sensors would be linked through a modem to mobile networks and the Internet, and to a hospital computer. Then, doctors can use this device to remotely monitor patients suffering from chronic diseases, like heart disease and diabetes, which affect millions of people across the world. It can also transfer the signals, including the ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and blood glucose level. The UK government will promote the device to improve the efficiency of health care delivery. In India, the project will link clinics and regional hospitals of rural areas to hospitals of city and centres. Indian Government is encouraging the integration of new and existing networks to spread the device in rural areas of the country. The clinical trials of the system will take place in the UK and India in next three years.

The company has launched the range of new mobile phones, which have ever-lasting battery. Philips has launched 3 Xenium phones, which has extremely long battery life of 40 days and 40 nights. The features of Philips’ Xenium phones are given below: Philips Xenium 9@9a: It has longest battery life with talk time of 10 hours and standby of 40 days. Now, Indians will start manufacturing Sony Ericsson mobile phones. Sony Ericsson, the second largest mobile phone company announced that the company is planning to manufacture mobile phones in India. The company will start manufacturing mobile phones in Chennai, India. Sony has signed an agreement with Flextronics and Foxconn, the company’s global manufacturing partners. Initially, the company would be able to manufacture basic color mobile handsets and mid-sized music-enabled mobile phones. These mobile phones will offer customised features to Indians like content and customised keypads. Flextronics will start producing Sony Ericsson phones in the second quarter of this year, while Foxconn, will start manufacturing Sony’s phones about two or three months later. India’s largest telecommunications service provider, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam has insisted local operators to manufacture equipments of Sony mobile phones. According to Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, Union Minister of Communications & Information Technology of India, India is becoming a manufacturing hub of international standards.
