Verizon’s BlackBerry 8830 offers global e-mail access

Verizon Wireless, Sprint have introduced BlackBerry 8830 e-mail phone, which can be used overseas also. Verizon’s BlackBerry 8830 is similar to AT&T’s BlackBerry 8800, but Verizon’s BlackBerry comes with Verizon Wireless’s network. Verizon Wireless uses Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology with Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network. The BlackBerry works on both CDMA and GSM technology, so that users can make phone calls as well as send and receive e-mails in almost every country. The 8830 also supports Verizon Wireless’ high-speed EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) data network and GSM’s slower General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) data service. The BlackBerry 8830 comes with media player, MicroSD card slot with expanded memory, speaker phone and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
