China has launched the trial run of their home grown 4G mobile technology in Shanghai. What’s important to mention is the fact that Chins doesn’t have 3G network till now as after its successful trial run Govt failed to issue licenses for it. So the developers have bye-passed the system and have build their own 4G technology which will the first of its kind in the world according to China although the Korean electronic giant Samsung also demonstrated similar technology in a moving bus in Korea. China daily Quoting You Xiaohu, expert involved in 4G development said, ‘It testifies that the technology we’ve developed is feasible and brings us one step closer to put it into commercial use." The 4G will help in not only allowing faster download speeds in mobile broadband but will also allow high-quality images and data services to improve with a multi-channel HD TV also a possibility. The trial run will cost China $19 million and its also pertinent to mention that if its becomes commercially viable then China will be first country to have mobile broadband with speeds ranging up to 100MB/S. Samsung will be ready with commercial application of 4G by 2010 but China daily said China wants to have it commercially available before 2010. So its state verses corporate lets see who wins?
