Visa offer Mobile Payment System on Nokia mobile phones

Now no need to carry your credit card while traveling. Now mobile phone user can use their mobile phone as credit card. The world’s biggest credit card payment system, Visa has launched a universal system, which turns mobile phone into wallet. Visa has signed a deal with mobile giant, Nokia to launch this service in Nokia handsets. This platform will allow mobile users for contactless payments, remote payments person-to-person payments, and mobile coupons. Customer would be able to manage their payment accounts and funds from their mobile phones. Even IBM has also helped to create the mobile payment system. According to company sources, Visa card system is currently generating US$4 trillion revenue. Initially, the mobile payment system will offer contactless mobile payment over mobile telephony networks, coupons and direct marketing. . Later on, the service will also include remote payment through mobile telephony networks and person-to-person payment.


 
 
 

Nokia offers Vox service for bloggers

The mobile giant, Nokia is making Blogging easy for bloggers. Nokia has introduced two new services, for bloggers to do hassle free blogging while traveling. Nokia has introduced following services in Nokia Multimedia handsets: Nokia Blooging service: Nokia has partnered with blog company, Six Apart as well as with Singapore-based GIS maker, Agis. Nokia has partnered with Six Apart to integrate Vox, a free personal blogging service in Nokia N series multimedia mobile phones, while with Agis to introduce a location based service through the Asia Maps application. Nokia has also introduced new N series handset named Nokia N93i with Vox blogging service. User would be able to upload videos and photos as well as update their blogs directly from their devices to the Vox blogging service. User would be able to post the content on popular blog and Web 2.0 sites like Google’s bloggers service and MySpace by copying the URL of media content and inserting it into the blog entry. User would be able to use Asia Maps in a range of countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. Nokia N95 mobile user would be able to view detailed maps of major cities and activate the GPS for the turn-by-turn voice navigation feature. User would also be able to plan routes and bookmark their favorite destination for their easy reference. Nokia N 95 user would be able to use turn-by-turn voice navigation feature without any charges for up to 60 days. Nokia N-series duo: Nokia has launched the latest of its N series family. The dubbed N93i and Nokia N76 both handsets are 3G enabled and run on Symbian and Nokia’s third edition Series 60 software platform. Both handsets are equipped with 2.4-inch display and Micro SD memory card. The phone supports Bluetooth and USB 2.0 connectivity and features dual-displays to access musical functions of device. Nokia N93i has Wi-Fi connectivity with capturing feature of DVD quality MPEG-4 movies at 30 frames per second via its 3.2-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens. The N93i has also featured on-device media editing functions, TV-out connectivity and comes bundled with Adobe’s Premier Element’s 3.0 video editing applications.


 
 
 

Now mobile phone user can operate any mobile phone or digital media player while traveling also. Ford has launched new factory installed, in car communication and entertainment system. The Ford Motor Co. has partnered with Microsoft to launch in-car communications and entertainment system named, Ford-exclusive technology. The Ford exclusive technology is based on Microsoft Auto software called Sync, which allow user to operate any mobile phone or digital media player by using voice commands or the vehicle’s steering wheel or radio controls. The device is connected through Bluetooth for wireless connection of phones. The Sync software seamlessly integrates the vehicle with portable electronic devices. Ford will incorporate the technology in all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. The software, Sync has following features: 1) Voice-activated, hands-free calling: User can simply press the ‘Push-to-Talk’ button on the steering wheel and then user can tell the name of the person, whom they are calling. Sync will automatically connect the name of that person by using mobile phone’s contact list. 2) Uninterrupted connections: User can talk while traveling also by simply touching the telephone button on the steering wheel, Sync will automatically connect to a Bluetooth phone. 3) Audible text messages: Sync will automatically convert the text messages from your mobile phone into audio version. The system can also allow user to reply with any of 20 predefined responses. 4) Voice-activated music: Sync will automatically browse music collection from your digital media player, mobile phone or USB drive by album, artist or song title by using voice commands. 5) Ring-tone support: For support phones, Sync will automatically play personal ring tones to identify the caller. 6) Automatic phone-book transfer: Sync will automatically and wirelessly transfer the names and number in a mobile phone book. 7) Advanced calling features: Sync has advanced features also like Caller ID, call waiting, conference calling, a caller log, a list of contacts, a signal strength icon, and a phone battery charge icon, which all are shown on the radio’s display screen


 
 
 

Yahoo! One search engine on Motorola mobile phones

Motorola is planning to bring Internet on your Motorola handsets. Motorola, the world’s second largest mobile phone company is working with Yahoo! to bring Internet service on Motorola handsets. Motorola is adding new features in its handsets with advanced Internet features. According to company sources, user would be able to download the beta version of the Yahoo! Go 2.0 software on their Motorola mobile phones, which is compatible with the suite. Yahoo! is expecting that, about 400 different mobile models are using their Yahoo! based mobile services in the mobile market. Recently, Yahoo has launched the oneSearch service, which is optimized for mobile phone platform. Soon Motorola will launch Yahoo! services on their handsets.


 
 
 

After Nokia and Motorola, Samsung has made a strategic partnership with Yahoo! to provide Yahoo! Go for Mobile 2.0 in Samsung mobile phones. Samsung, a leading provider of mobile phones and Yahoo!, a leading global Internet company have a made a strategic partnership to provide Yahoo! services, including Yahoo! Go for mobile 2.0, Yahoo! OneSearch, Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger on its mobile handsets. Samsung has already launched a mobile handset, named SGH-E570, pre-loaded with Yahoo! Search. The company is also planning to launch Yahoo! services in Q1 2007. Yahoo! One Search will also include high-quality search results, which will enable Yahoo! advertisers to reach consumers on mobile devices. Samsung mobile phones with Yahoo! services would be available for users through mobile operators as well as in-direct distribution channels. Samsung will pre-load following services on their mobile handsets: Yahoo! Go 2.0: It is an innovative new application, which redefines the Mobile Internet experience with content from the entire Internet and a reinvention of mobile search. It allows to access e-Mail, local information and maps, news, sports, finance, entertainment, weather, photo sharing and search. Yahoo! One Search: The Search engine, which is designed for consumers to give instant answers. Yahoo! Messenger: It allows sending and receiving messages, share emoticons and access the Yahoo! Messenger’s friend’s list It will also show availability to chat with friends and family and show their presence information, when they are online too. Yahoo! Has Apple grabbed Visual Voicemail application from Citrix?

It seems that controversy is not so easily evading Apple iPhone. First, Cisco slapped Apple for the trademark name ‘iPhone’. The iPhone fiasco is still going on. Meanwhile, a Register report brings a fresh controversy for Apple. In an exclusive story, the Register claims that Apple has grabbed visual voicemail application name from an old company called Citrix. The Citrix website explains that Visual Voicemail allows users to take a quick glance at their list of voice messages to check for important ones-without having to listen to all their messages. As of now, this service is available for Cisco IP phones. Interestingly, Apple’s iPhone has the same application. Is Apple heading towards yet another legal battle?


 
 
 

The world’s largest mobile phone company, Nokia has launched new service for Sony devices. Nokia announced that the company is bringing Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email for Sony Ericsson devices. The mobile giant, Nokia is extending its relationship with Sony and offering Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email for Sony devices, including the M600 and P990. The Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email allows mobile users to enjoy a fully synchronized, real-time email, calendar and contacts experience on their mobile phones. The company will also enable operators and enterprise to deliver advanced wireless communications services, including wireless email, synchronization for calendars, contacts, files, data and applications, and highly secure device management software for Sony Ericsson users. The Sony P990 smartphone is a Wi-Fi enabled UMTS device, which has 2.0 megapixel camera and full QWERTY keyboard and alpha numeric keypad for fast text input. While the M600 is 3G phone, which is based on the Symbian operating system and it is optimized for wireless e-mail with dual function keyboard and large 2.6′ color touch screen.

Sony’s MBW100 watch tells who is calling you!

Now your wristwatch will tell you that you have an incoming call. Sony Ericsson has unveiled Bluetooth watch MBW100, which will alert you, when you have an incoming call on your mobile phone. The Sony’s Bluetooth watch MBW 100 will not only tell you that you have an incoming call but also it will display the name, who is calling you. As your watch is within about 30 feet of the cell phone, it will vibrate gently, whenever you an incoming call and it will also display the name on its crisp display below the main analog watch screen. If the number is from your contact list of your mobile phone, then watch will display the name of calling person. If you are not interested, press a button once to mute the phone’s ring signal or press it twice to send the call to voice mail. If you want to take the call, then you have to take out your mobile phone, unless you are using the headset.
